Could someone remind me how to attach the map? I haven't done this in a couple years.[/img] |

You first need to upload the image to a separate host site (I use devianart, but there are lots of sites that will host images).
After that use the img button to allow you to link to the image by pasting the URL into your post. Be sure to click on the img button after copying the URL>
EDIT: Fixed the typos. |

It's not showing up; but I copied the URL into my browser and had a look. I can't tell you where to look exactly; but what I do when I get those is to land just south of Campeche and walk southeast. Be scanning the horizon with your spyglass and you'll see it eventually. It's always worked for me; with the exception of a messed up map I've never lost a lost city. _________________ The Code is the Law. |

Okay, I'll try that.
As for posting links to pics here on the forum, you said you couldn't see mine. What I did was click the Img button at the top, paste the link, and then hit the Img button again.
Is that correct? |

Yes, but for some reason that's exactly what I see. No image. _________________ The Code is the Law. |

You posted the wrong URL. You should have posted the URL of the JPG, not of the framing web page. Here is the correct URL:
http://fc00.deviantart.net/fs71/f/2014/086/6/1/map_01_by_deknbluz-d7btpd7.jpg
When I put the img tags on it, it looks like this:

If jslangdo is correct, then the X, the center of the map, and the named landmark are roughly colinear, so by drawing a line from the X through the center of the map, you can estimate the location of the named landmark: somewhere around the top-right of the map. That means you should look along the east coastline of the landmass containing Campeche, and for each named landmark, head south-southwest and see if you find a stone head, Indian totem, or deserted cabin. |

I found it. Thanks for the tip, Cap'n Teague. I found it after just a couple minutes. And thanks, Roland, for the info about the URL. |

|

Anyone done the title? I got the full map but spent a lot of time for nothing. The rock indicating treasure marker appears along the coast but not on the map. The apparent coastline on the map has an odd discontinuity and while there are a bunch of markers in the area none seem to correspond with the map markers.
Any help out there maties!...arrrrgh |

Ron,
We can't see your map so we can't be specific. Whenever you get a map, look for a marker - a named rock or reef like Cutlass Reef or whatever the name. Then go to that spot and look in the direction the map says the city is in. Pay little regard to dead trees and geysers, they are poor landmarks, while the buildings are good landmarks. Remember, it is very common for there to be two different places on the map with the same named rock.
Always start near the named rock/reef and if you do not see buildings where the map says they are, look for another place with the same named rock/reef. If your map says Vera Cruz on it, your lost city will be NORTH of Vera Cruz. Get back to us on this, let us know how it is going. We will help you. |

|
|
This map, supposedly near Vera Cruz, showed no shoreline markers, however, as said, one shore landmark blinked "Treasure Marker" as I passed...even though, as said, the map showed no such shore landmark. While it was "near Vera Cruz" the structures I found did not seem to be consistent with the markers of the map.
I'm just asking if anyone else has gotten this Vera Cruz Inca map and found there was a discrepancy as to the location....like with the recent "near Campeche" Inca map that was actually on the opposite side of the Yucatan Peninsula!( I do NOT consider that meeting the accepted definition of the English word "near". I was able to locate the right place because the map did show a shoreline and a small settlement of "Liberte'" was readable.
Again this Mario Atari bastardized Sid Meiers Pirates is so stupidly screwed up it is agonizing to play.
Isn't someone out there able to crack this code and fix all these moronic coding logic errors?
How can I move the fire button during combat to another position...located between the left and right maneuvering buttons makes for unloading the cannons at the wrong time...ARRRRRRGHGHHHHHHH!( A POX ON THE MORON CODER THAT DID THAT! Hope the Zombies eat what little brain (s)he has. |

As Salty Dog said, without seeing your map the best you'll get in general advice. One additional trick is to use the spyglass to look for the landmarks. |
