I was looking back on all the games I've purchased over the years trying to think of which ones I liked the most.

I guess my favorite - based upon how much time I used to spend playing it was Diablo 2.

If I include incarnations of Pirates!, I guess my top games ever list (for me) would be:

1. Diablo 2 (PC)
2. Pirates! (PC now, Mac version in the old days)
3. Tiger Woods PGA Tour ('04 and '05 for the PC)
4. Original Diablo (PC)
5. Civilization (PC)
6. Gran Turismo series (PS1)
7. Sim City (Mac in the old days)
8. The Sims (Livin' Large, Making Magic, etc. - PC)
9. The Sims 2 (PC)
10. Rise of Nations series (PC)

My favorite game of all-time would probably be Might and Magic III: Isles of Terra. It just had the right combination of combat, riddles, and loot to keep me replaying it. After that, several games come to mind.

Might and Magic 6-8
Ultima IV, VI
Wizardry: Bane of the Cosmic Forge
Daggerfall
Morrowind
Pirates! Gold
Seven Cities of Gold
Heart of Africa
Conquest of the New World
Bookworm (A small word game from popcap games)
Amberstar
Magic Candle 1-3
Wizard's Crown
Exile or Avernum series
Geneforge 1-2

I was talking to a friend of mine about Pirates getting remade after all this time, and it got me thinking about another game which could use re-creating:

Tie Figher by Lucasarts.

Holy Cow! If I added sports simulations, then I'd have to add to the list:

1. DiamondMind Baseball
2. Strat-o-Matic Baseball (Windows version)
3. Eastside Hockey Manager
4. Out of the Park Baseball
5. Title Bout Boxing
6. APBA Baseball for Windows

The list can't even include my chess programs like Fritz 8.

The best games are those which you play for hours at a time and the time flies by quickly. For me, those games have been..

Pirates! (the original 1987 C64 version)
Defender of the Crown
Airborne Ranger
Rocket Ranger
Sim City
Railroad Tycoon
Wings! (a Cinemaware game)
Centurion: Defender of Rome
Speedball 2
Civilization 2 (also 3 and the original Civ)
Colonization
Others, I can't think of right now.

Also, some console games
FIFA '98:Road to World Cup
Gran Turismo
Driver

1.Sid Meier's Pirates
2.Robin Hood : Defender Of The Crown
3.Dragon's Lair
4.Nba 2K3
5.The Sims

Favourite games on Amiga :

1.Pirates!
2.Dragon's Lair 1,2 and 3
3.Defender Of The Crown
4.Airborn Ranger
5.Aladdin

Last games played but not both :

Curse the eye of isis
Carmen sandiego
The sphinx and the cursed mummy
(All three owned by my locale libary.Just 1 euro for a month)

I just hope one thing : that the youth of today can fall in love with games as pirates, defender of the crown, like we did in our younger years, instead of halo and GTA:san andreas, games that are very violent and very agressive!!!
