During sword fights, my pirate keeps getting little dizzy swirls around his head. He'll get them for anything - just jumping to miss a low strike is enough to set it off. Does anyone know what it's about or why it happens? And if it actually makes a difference? I certainly haven't noticed one.

You will certainly start to notice it the higher the level you play on. To counter it, taunt your opponent and HE should get dizzy instead.

My guy gets dizzy often, mostly from hitting the thrust at the same time as my opponets. Also getting parried gets him dizzy, but I strike right away because I almost always get attacked instantly. Since I use the rapier always, I was able to get in the stab first. Later in my career I found swordfighting nearly impossible against captains of the guard, suitors for the hot chicks, and treasure captains. Glad I stole a frigate so I can batter ships and get them to strike their colors, can't afford to use swords anymore.

I was really wondering what those 'swirly' things were. So y'all say that it's a bad thing to have them? I was wondering if maybe they meant I was learning a new move or some such...I know several of my opponents were said to have some sort of special fencing skills.
