So with all cities active how is the 1600 map going to be any different than the 1660 map?

There is no difference in the map if all eras are open for a city but there are differences in the game itself which is effected by opening all eras up. 1680 era the pirate hunters are more active so attacking ships near a port is likely to draw out a pirate hunter after you. Starting ships for the PC can be different from one era to the other. For the most part it’s basically the same game with the same goals. Rescue your relatives, defeat the top ten to become the big dog. Get rich discovering the other pirates buried loot. Find the lost cities, marry a beauty, defeat Montey at his hideout in the woods. That’s the most of it.

I like all eras, not just 1660. Each era has a feel to it. I understand your logic though and understand each era is a bit different, bagging a SOTL is usually 1680s stuff

I forgot to mention, i found my first ship of the line and flag galleon sailing non pirate hunter or monty owned. Same old game but i can take a day or two playing it every couple weeks

Pirates hunters never use the SOTL anyway. We had the coding to what ships were used by the Pirate hunters. Last mod I did add those ships but I never saw either of them and the frigate was the most common I saw in the mod. SOTL are spawned but less frequently than other ships. Sometimes it helps to stick in a area and just attack the hell out of the ship traffic and fire at the forts too. Pirates hunters will come and ships will have escorts and it’s a decent chance you will end up seeing a Sotl. Pay attention when sailing for New Warship. It may be it. I ran into three in the East Indies in about a hour of time but that’s not the norm.
