IIRC, even Dave the Knave, the great advocate of the Ship of the Line, preferred canoes for regular use, and reserved the big ships for special occaisions.

I played this game all the way thru until age 80 one time. I finished up the game with eight Ships of the Line! I thought that was pretty cool.
Then there was Sparticus! He played a game 3384 years! He played at work for hours each day for years. |

I watched a couple of folks stream the game on Twitch. It's pretty nice. The cel-shaded graphics still hold up today. |

Trying to get the game started up and attempting to patch some mods in...
Like:-
1) trying to use the HD texture from nexus mods...
2) getting the old mod manager 0.2.3 by K-bob to actually start up....
3) finding the old saved daughters/barmaids mods...
4) 1920x1080 full screen....failing that, probably windowed at whatever the max was....
How DID I play this game full screen last time...could have sworn I managed to do that with a 1920x1080 monitor... |
