Mod Requests: Pirate and Indian Full Factions mod

I haven't gotten my settlements What do you think is the problem?

Opps I'm a idiot. It's just hit me that I probably didn't mod the locations so therefore there would be no reason to put it in since it would draw it out of the fpk pack if you didn't have another one added in the folder.

It doesn't matter if it's in there or not. If it is then the game draws from that and if it isn't the game draws from the fpk's. If your using the Portuguese mod then I recommend using Jlanngdo's so the French settlements will have Portuguese names otherwise it doesn't matter.

I don't have a single settlement. Second go at it too. Asking Jlangdo if he got to the point of adding settlements might help doh

I had everything working in mine and the new one I'm making now works. Earlier today I escorted the Dutch mayor to Ambon. Knocked out a few top ten pirates. I was sailing near Spanish territory and that is one of the great spots to find these things.

Ok fair enough. When I start out as the Portuguese both times they started me in India. is that the problem? Would adding more names to pirate havens, settlements, Jesuit missions and indian villages increase the present amount? Like adding more names in the location file I mean.

Adding more names would certainly not help anything. If this continues make sure you have everything installed from Jlangdo's mod. I never had this issue but certain areas like in the Caribbean are better spots to find especially Indian and Pirates. Try different locations and that might take care of it.

I put the new "French" flags in the custom folder and everything else in the assets folder. Is that right?


Ill give a good sail east the next time i play and see if i can find them.

You can put everything in the customs folder and most people do except me. and the reason for that is you ever want to change the flag your using on a ship you will have a ton of them to go through. Also worth noting is the text.ini simply doesn't work in the customs folder in my experiences so I make another folder inside my Assets folder and name it East Indies Mod and dump everything in that. Now it's important though to add the ship flags to your customs folders especially if you have them in your Assets or your ships will be using different flags then then some of the cities. The flags to the ships are flag_dut, flag_eng, flag_fre, flag spa, flag_pir so if you dump all the Portuguese flags in the Assets make sure you copy and past flag_fre in the customs.

I had installed it exactly the way you said except assets stuff was put in the main assets folder without an east indies mod sub folder. Can that cause my problem? And have you sailed around the whole of india and found even one settlement? As the Portuguese that's where im started in the game.

I normally a new folder that way when i’m done with it I can just delete it or whatever without risking the chance of deleting a fpk pack or whatever. Should work fine but I’ve no clue what’s going on here. Try another location and see what it does.

I'll sail out to Indonesia and the Philippines and see what happens. Have you sailed around India before and found settlements?
