Do you think I don"t have settlements is because im running jlangso's last upload compared to your current version? I seemed to have found a patch in my assets folder that's part of the mod, when I click on it it just opens in a notepad but seems like it's map related
location_names_enu has an underscore???? can it be just locationnames_enu, just like ship names and city names |

location_names_enu is correct. The patch is not necessary to install with the mod. What that is used for is to update the Caribbean exe. to the East Indies so the game will work right. If you was to unravel it you will find all the cities and the Portuguese text that goes into the exe. Anybody any ideas why Guardcostas isn't finding any settlements in the East indies mod. I'm about out of ideas. |

I just copied and pasted your east indies exe over the Caribbean one. And than made a shortcut on my computer. I guess it's back to PR3, sad pirate |

So I got great news! So I was hoping of acquiring a dutch rudder, which I did, and all the settlements seem to only be in the Indonesian area. No China, Indochina or India. Tons of them though. Hmm I wonder what is causing them to not sprout in the other areas? Pirate, is this kind of like your current game? |

Doesn’t sound right to me. Anything else besides the settlements that seem strange or not right ? Are they any pirates, Indians or missions? |

Yes, has them all. pirates Indians and missions. Every few inches. Just only in the Indonesian area and not the mainland continent of asia. It's kind of cool that way and definately not game killing. You have your safe areas and pirate infested areas |

And I hope you know im actually using jlangso's last version which is what you accidently uploaded in the MODS only section. Your old version the only thing im using is your modded executable. The third page in this thread is where I downloaded your version. MODS only section is actually jlangdo's |

To my knowledge the version I made the mod from was Jlangdos newest version. The one you downloaded and thought was mine was put there by mistake. I believe fleetp corrected that. The exe. your useing has different cities from Jlangdo’s but I did use his locations and made it so that every city is available no matter what era you choose. No modifications were made by me for the settlements. Anyway it sounds like you got something going there and seem to be enjoying the new experience. Some of the issues I know about are and it’s not every time escorting the new Governor will result with him disappearing and instantly arriving save at his new appointed city. Sometimes landmark names get buried by the terrain making it harder to find treasure etc. Once again this is only sometimes. There are places that are hard to navigate do to the ships sailing fast and the waterway being narrow so I find larger Brigs and Frigates with half sail more easy than sloops because even though the channel is narrow the smaller ships are so fast making it difficult to not to bang into land and getting that message if you want to leave your ship here. Enjoy your game. |

Why, would the Caribbean exe have worked with jlandsdo's version? Should I be using it? I prefer not a total overhaul mod with SMP, plus you returned the French which is kind of game killing to me, no offense. I was just looking forward to something different, different nationality + a different theatre. I never was able to obtain a dutch rudder with the Caribbean exe game, i'm not sure what it had out in Indonesia |

The game will launch useing the Caribbean exe. but it will be flawed due to the location points of cities eras allowing two different nationalities to be located in the same city even though only one shows up you will notice things like both British and French traffic coming in and out. As far as me leaving the French being a killer is concerned I do believe I made you the offer to fix that but you didn’t want . The easy way I install the game so it’s easy to uninstall is make a folder in Assets and dump the mod and later delete it when going back to the Caribbean. Replace the customs folder back to the Caribbean and for the exe. I would rename it East Indies instead of Pirates! so it won’t overwrite your original in the event you wish to go back to the Caribbean. |

Wouldn't want you to do any extra work. I just preferred jlandsdo's "soft" mod of the game vs an overhaul. yes, I remember with the Caribbean exe the English captured columbo or whatever in south Ceylon but on the east indies map it still showed up as Portuguese. I just copied and pasted my original pirates! folder and renamed it east indies mod. Still got the Caribbean based original safe and sound |

Alrighty! My mod is certainly bigger and certainly not for everyone so it doesn’t bother me if no one plays it. I just do my thing and help others the best I can. Anyway I hope you are enjoying Jlangdos version. It’s a good mod with some flaws of course but that is to be expected. Enjoy the game and if you need anything give me a shout. |

A MODDER'S work is never done I used to mod paradox interactive games before they went 3D at least and also edit a few files with creative assembly's total war series. I know the addiction. I'm sure someone will come around and give your next version a download.
Jlangsdo, while you were still testing and modding, did you have settlements outside the Indonesian island chain? Indian and Indochinese coasts? |

Played a bit Saturday. I saw China's coast and Vietnamese area coast has settlements. Western Indochina (Laos? Cambodia?) and India's western and eastern coasts no settlements. I acquired a Spanish rudder this time a few months into the game later and saw the same results. Awesome mod though! Question, was difficulty modded in any way? I saw a huge difference between apprentice and journeyman. Sorry for the wee wee difficult settings - I like an easy game, just something to have fun with |

There was no modifications made to the difficulty levels as going from apprentice to Journeyman should stay the same like the Caribbean. Each level gets harder but it shouldn’t take long to get good at Journeyman if you been playing awhile. |
