I play from a laptop. I edited the keypmap because using the numpad on the laptop is complicated. But in the dances when I press the button to make the turns, they don't run. all other movements are executed but the turns are not. I have to press with the mouse in the lower right corner to make the turns, that is not a problem in the lower levels because the movements light up but in the future when I go to play in the higher levels it will be a real problem.

Sorry for my English

Could the keys you assigned to dance turns already be assigned to another function?

I was enough of an SMP fanatic that I bought a USB numpad to plug into my laptop. I plug into the left side of my laptop so that I can play with my left hand on the numpad and my right hand on the mouse.

Welcome to Hooked on pirates!
As I sometimes play SMP on a laptop, I use a full sized keyboard that plugs into one of the laptop's USB posts.
Using a full sized keyboard also makes typing easier.

I would go with a full sized wireless keyboard & mouse as well on a laptop.

Much cheaper to replace if you break a key or button

Dancing on a laptop is probably already covered in previous forum threads.
This is some of the first hits on Google.

Have you checked whether "NumLock" is set?
