Welcome to Cutlass Isle! Hope you stick around.

The city you are looking for is located south of the small lake at the Southwest corner of the Bay of Honduras. If you go South down the coast of Mexico it turns into modern day Belieze. The shoreline keeps sloping from the Northeast to the Southwest and forms a corner at what is today Guatemala. Just south of that corner is Lake Izabal. Take a look on a map program like Google Maps or Google Earth and you will see Lake Izabal.

So, sail to the very corner of the Bay of Honduras, get off and walk south around the lake and then further south and you will find your city. Let us know how this works.

Agreed with everything Salty Dog has posted

Guatemala, Lake Izabal on google maps

need to copy & paste entire link into your browser
as truncated by forum

https://www.google.com/maps/place/Lake+Izabal/@14.7585684,-91.6608308,8.25z/data=!4m5!3m4!1s0x8f6113d8cb681a71:0x17a8a222992c45df!8m2!3d15.4756347!4d-89.189643

mouse scroll wheel to zoom in or out

The game does like this interior lake for some of the more difficult
treasure hunts and is vague about the general heading directions
so forcing you to search.

I would suggest you get this, unless happy with the ingame map
and a printed version to hand may be useful for general orientation.

Geysers are randomly spread around so not reliable as markers.
Use telescope both while sailing and on land.
