We haven't had a Pirates of the Caribbean game on console or PC since 2011 and that is, quite frankly, unforgivable.

Simple answer:
Akella are now dormant in a Financial Coma
having gone almost bankrupt,
effectively ceased operations since 2012.

Ubisoft, is now between a rock and a hard place
having taken Singapore Government Development monies,
have to actually ship the Skull & Bones game regardless
of quality or how money they loose on it, as the game development
has burned through a lot of cash already

Captain Jack Sparrow is the protagonist of the Pirates of the Caribbean film series, making his debut in Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl. Drunken, charismatic, and morally gray, Jack is one of the most infamous pirates to ever sail the Seven Seas, known as the rightful commander of the Black Pearl.
Jack Sparrow embarks on a number of grand and thrilling adventures with friends, some involving the supernatural, and some time for defeating enemies trikes them. In his adventures, he battles the cursed Captain Hector Barbossa, his archenemy Davy Jones, and the tyrannical Lord Cutler Beckett. In his search for the Fountain of Youth, he has to contend with the notorious Captain Blackbeard and the beautiful Angelica. In his later years, he falls in bad luck and drepession until he's helped by Henry Turner to save Will and defeating the evil ghostly pirate hunter Captain Salazar, who blames him for his death. After defeating Salazar and Barbossa's sacrifice, Jack reclaims captaincy of the Black Pearl and he comes back to be his legendary old self again.
