Land attack on Cartegena?

Has anyone else wished to do a land attack on cartegena but can't? Is this a bug or is the city IRL situated on a small island?

Which Cartegena are you referring to?

South american one or possibly an East Indies mod one ?


The Cartegena in columbia was attacked many times in its history
and some were highly successful, others not so much
As time went on Cartegena had improved defences.

I loaded up a 1660 game and tried to land near Cartegena, and walk to it to attack, but was unable to do so. I either sailed into the harbor or was told to either turn around or return to my ship.

Same thing with Macao in the east indies mod. Is macao an island? probably not, and it's fair prize if the economy's wealthy and has 10,000 + citizens

this was the fix for Barbados back in the day

alter the x and y coordinates for the "Barbados" entry in landscape.ini

for
Macao in the east indies mod.

and
Cartegena ?
Which mod is this?


perhaps try move them into the playable area
like what was done with Barbados
(EDIT: or say follow the move cities procedure)

A a guess most likely cities are being placed in a non playable area of the map glitch
Not sure enough knowledge is there yet for fixing this
in the part of the map component that defines the playable area).

Are there savegames available that can be provided
for both locations?
along with a mods list for both as well any other info like
time period or playing mode etc

After multiple tries, I was able to land on the southwest edge of Cartagena and start walking to the town, where I was given the option to enter the town or attack it.

you may not be able to land right at the town, try further away
and march inland at a guess

THanks all. I gave myself today off from SMP. I can handle it say 3 days in a row than i go mad because it's still that same old game

I’m sure I have sacked them all at one point or another. I may not have sacked all the East Indies but the Caribbean sacking cities was my thing. I would sack them until I was a Duke of a particular nation then I would pull a Benjamin Arnold and start appointing governors for a new allegiance.

Yes, once you are a duke youre immune to said nation extracting revenge for captured ships and sacked towns
