I've used the trainer before to change villages/pirate havens to Barbary villages (just make sure it's not a named pirate's hideout), especially on the North African coast. You can even edit your saved game to change the names to Tunis, Sale, Tripoli etc, but it's a bit more work.
Re: the pink flags, that usually means a file is in the wrong place or the wrong size... I may have mislabelled something and the game makes it annoying to move mods around, but make sure that "custom" is the only location for files like flag_dut, flag_eng, pennant_eng and all of the ship_sail_emblem files.
Then "assets" should be the only home for files like flag_english, the flag_treaty and flag_war files, flag_eng0 through flag_eng3, etc. |

I noticed this while testing but thought it was semi-realistic, the idea of a pirate taking a Caribbean settlement is somewhat plausible (and happened) but a buccaneer conquering a historic city like Barcelona or Naples seems a bit more far-fetched... you can still do it, it just takes a bit more |

but as Towns had an increased chance of defending militias
they preferred undefended villages or settlements |

Yeah exactly, I'd love to redirect them to the villages/settlements which would be more realistic (but less plunder).
I've also thought about rewriting the text when a city's population goes down after a native/Barbary raid, currently it says the people flee to the countryside or something.
It would be simple to rewrite it to say they were kidnapped and taken to a north African slave market which actually occurred back then. It's just so dark and not in keeping with the game's aesthetic at all (other than your family being kidnapped I guess) |

I noticed Davy john's the named pirate will appear for a couple seconds outside his hide out and when you get near hide back in
I think i installed the mod right, it runs and i left it as it was in the download |

Yeah there are some pirate havens in little recessed parts of land that came up during mapmaking. I tried to fix most of them but a few got through. You SHOULD still be able to fight the named pirate if you can get close enough and press the button during those few seconds they're out to sea. You can also march there if you want to recruit men |

Hello! Just wanted to congratulate you for the amazing work, this is something I was thinking of doing myself, so it was a pleasant surprise indeed.

The characters use nif. files and only a few people have successfully created a new nif. that actually works in the game . None are currently participating here at the moment except Fleetp but his nif. work was limited and so yeah it’s a challenge they say. What do you want to change in the European mod? I do have experience with the executables etc. |

Running the Windows SFC tool tends to be the one of the standard
Microsoft support suggestions to eliminate any possibility
of Windows OS File corruption.
It is often suggested with troublesome Windows updates
even when the issue could be with the insufficiently tested update
rather than the OS.
Probably on the Microsoft standard support response script.
With the Game or mod you can uninstall & reinstall them as required
as a last resort.
4GB Patch for x86 (32-bit) Executables recommended

Also suggest set run Game as an administrator
(especially if the game is installed to Program Files)
