Map
The following is a map for an earlier, more expansive port of the game. While there are extra cities, I took the liberty of highlighting two key areas.
The coastlines in purple are the likely culprits for Lost Cities.
Lost Cities are the only treasure maps that don't spawn nearby. If you can make out part of the coastline, save your game and try to match it up to these areas.
The waters highlighted in red are the most frequent areas to find named pirates.
If you're having trouble finding one in the beginning of the game or Henry Morgan later on, sail to these areas and you'll likely find them.

Map uses the Traditional Nation colors
Dutch - Orange
England - Red
France - Blue
Spain - yellow
Generic help for where is any of the Lost cities or Named pirates
located.

Salty Dog named pirates Post

here are several locations I believe I have ALWAYS seen named pirates stationed, they are:
Due east of Margarita on the Northeast Coast of South America
South of St. Augustine on the Eastern Coast of Florida
The north coast of the Yucatan Pennisula
Northeast of Grand Granada on the North Coast of Honduras
The East Coast of the Yucatan Peninsula and Belieze.
I'm sure you guys can think of some other "Always" locations.

Worlds End will always have a named pirate but not always the same one. Usually its Henry Morgan or Blackbeard but I've had Roc on a few occaisions and even Bad Bart. Certain named pirate havens will always have named pirates.

Orienteering tips

Several tips previously mentioned in other threads helped me tremendously.
- start search at nearest landmark like named rocks even if it doesn't appear on treasure map
- stone heads, totems, temples might be warm signals
- dead trees which you can walk though are cold signals
- dead trees, cabins which you cannot walk through are warm signals
- use compass since many landmarks are lined up exactly N,S,E,W
Dead trees which you can walk through is not part of the landmark on the map. The ones which you cannot are very close or an actual map landmark.

The last two links are the map from the old game, isn't it? I think it's the same one I used for my retro map mod |
