I have the first Witcher game. I enjoyed playing it up until the first 'boss' battle. The first boss was almost impossible to beat unless you had a special potion to rub on your sword. If you had reached the first boss, there was no way to back-track to get that special potion (unless you had a saved game from prior to where the potion was).

I had to search on line to find out why I couldn't defeat the first boss, and rather than restart the game and risk missing the spot where the special potion was sold, I used a cheat to defeat the boss and continue.
