Indeo Video

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Indeo

Indeo Video (commonly known now simply as "Indeo"),
now obsolete Video Codec

Back in the early Win9x days or earlier,
a video codec included with Windows and often used by Games
of that era.

Microsoft didn't bother including Indeo in the original
Launch release of Windows XP (about 2001) , only to have to include
it in Windows XP SP1
because of numerous Games failing to play in-game cutscene videos
(Microsoft license fee payment issue, part of the original inclusion failure)

The latest free version of Indeo

Windows Vista and newer contain the codec,
but it is not registered by default.

For Windows 95 through XP, it is necessary to download
and install the codec fully

-------------------------------

The Indeo video codec is integrated but not registered
when installed

Manually register the Indeo codec

(64-bit Windows, probably System32 for 32-bit Windows
at a guess)

Open the Command Prompt as administrator.

Use it to browse to %WINDIR%\SysWOW64.

Register the Indeo codec by typing regsvr32 ir50_32.dll

Notes

To unregister the codec,

Open the Command Prompt as administrator.

Use it to browse to %WINDIR%\SysWOW64.

type in regsvr32 /u ir50_32.dll
