1. Gold!
2. Promotions.
I never raid poor or modest ports, only wealthy and prosperous ones (which I can take with my current crew). If I have max size fleet, full of cargo and heading to port to sell the booty, then I usually search the nearest (wealthy/prosperous) one to raid. That way I save a week in game-time. |

Is this possible in the v1.0.2 patch?
Remember reading that you can't change the governor of the nation's last city; or do I just remember it wrong? |

Yes Dutch Settlements will spawn Dutch ships and they will invade other cities to re-establish the Dutch cities. You cannot overthrow the governmrnt of a city you previously overthrew but the Settlements can do it on their own. |

What about the nation's last and only remaining city what you haven't overthrew earlier?
e.g. 1620 era: Dutch have lost St. Martin and only have Curacao left. Is it possible (in the v1.0.2 patch) for you to change Curacao's governor from Dutch to some other?
I think I remember this wrongly. |

Yes, it's possible to turn the entire map into a French Empire, or any other nationality you set your mind to. |

I remember if you take all the Spanish cities away from Spain then Raymondo and Montalban will change nationalities to keep from disappearing. |

Yes they will. However, the other nations will send Invasion Forces from their Settlements. |
