Ziggurat Interactive, a recently formed publisher of multiplatform retro and modern games, announced today they have purchased the rights to multiple game licenses previously owned by Majesco Entertainment. This includes the fan-favorite BloodRayne franchise and others. As part of the purchase, Ziggurat has taken ownership of popular action titles BloodRayne, BloodRayne 2, BloodRayne: Betrayal.
Ziggurat Interactive is already working with original BloodRayne developer, Terminal Reality, to update the PC versions of the BloodRayne games to make them fully compatible with current gaming systems and hardware.
Ziggurat also indicated plans are under discussion for the franchise's long term success as they further explore the expansion of BloodRayne’s already rich universe.

Steam Bloodrayne 2 Game executable had
issues back in the day with the Bloodrayne 2 Mod Launcher,
Using a Retail NoCD game executable with the Launcher was a workaround Fix back then.
Steam Bloodrayne 2 discussions forum may have further info on this.
EDIT: further info added in another post futher down.
NoCD also required now for windows 10, as certain Retail DRM schemes
(Safedisk or SecureRom) no longer supported by Windows 10 or use instead the Steam or GOG game versions.

Since Bloodrayne is a 2002 Windows XP era game,
you could try the Windows compatibility mode on the
raynegun tool
(seem to recall had vbrun compatibility issues even on
Windows XP with the raynegun tool,
Updated vbrun runtime dlls or XP service packs
with update dlls broke the raynegun tool, Gui command functionality)
To play with a mod, manual install method
Place any BR1 Mod POD files in the BloodRayne game directory
alonside the game executable
If a PCPOD.INI file is included with the mod
overwrite the original game ini file (make a backup first).
Alternative add the POD filename to the game ini file,
and increase the Pods number.
an original POD.INI File would be something like this:

To add the mod, increase the number 6 to 7
and add the mod name to the top of the list.
The list is loaded last-in-first-out, so a file "higher" on the list

To play with a mod, raynegun tool install method
The raynegun tool allow you to select a specific mod
from a list, then configure the PCPOD.INI file and launch the game,
by the click of a rayngeun tool button
So very convenient to use.
Place the BR1 raynegun tool & any user mod Pod files in the game
folder alongside the game executable
Firewall or AV software may block on general principle
any software calling another executable
You may need to set an AV Folder exclusion or Firewall rule as required
The original Retail CD Bloodrayne 1 game did not have any Retail DRM,
as far as I can recall.

Bloodrayne 2 Mod Installation Generic Install guide
Note:
Recommend that the Mods folder is not created in the BR2 Game directory
As Windows 10 program files folder is now an OS protected folder,
admin rights required to override this.
Install Guide below dates from approx 2005 and this was not then an issue.
Install game to say for example C:\BR2
and not in Program files
Create a mods respository folder say for example C:\BR2Mods
and place each mod in a sub-folder there, say for example
C:\BR2Mods\blackrubber
Turfster's Launcher can be placed in its own folder say C:\BR2launcher
You will need to create a Desktop shortcut to the Launcher executable
and to play with mods start the game with the launcher.
Turfster's BR2 launcher when you run it first,
MUST set your mods and game folders location.
Launcher must match the graphical settings configured for the game.
It may be useful to stash a copy of the game configuration ini file
somewhere once configured. It may be called rayne.ini.
Suggest add this to any backup collection of your Bloodrayne 2 mods.
The most common issues with the Launcher is failing to set the folder
locations and also failing to configure the Launcher graphics config.
(must be the same as the Game Graphical settings)
People have a habit of dumping say an archive of mods and Launcher
onto a system and then running the Launcher without the necessary
config, then wonder why it doesn't work.
Also failing to use the Cheats to unlock & select the required model
or game level.
Some mods readme files have specific graphic settings requirements
Set in the rayne.ini text file
[Cheats]
DisplayHudCheat=1
to enable the Game Graphical settings options on Game Startup
as very useful for such mods
Overwriting the default rayne.ini file with the configured archived rayne.ini file will ensure the launcher graphics config matches the game graphics config.
Alternatively ensure you config the Launcher correctly.
Guide Uses as an example a BR2 Black Rubber mod, available here

Bllodrayne 2 mods were originally typically in POD archive files
for example Black Rubber.POD
When Turfster's BR2 launcher became available, mods were then
typically supplied in a zip or rar archive. Extract the contents to a
mods respository sub-folder location.
Launcher works with both POD files
(will extract the POD contents first, then delete the source POD file.
Rcommended to always use a copy of the mod to install)
or the extracted mod contents.

To install using Turfster's Launcher:

1. If you don't already have one, create a mods folder in your BR2 game directory.

3. Make sure the Black Rubber.POD file unzips to \mods\Black Rubber

4. Launch Turfster's BR2 launcher. (If you haven't already, set your mods and game directories, also config the graphics)
5. When the launcher asks if this is a simple skin mod, click yes.
6. Check the box next to Black Rubber in the list and click launch.
7. Enter the EXTRAS menu and enter the Unlock Outfits cheat: WHACKLICKEROTICCUNNINGLY
8. Go down to Select Outfit and select Schoolgirl Rayne.
9. Either select the first level or escape back to the main menu and load a previously saved game.
Turfster's launcher has a checkbox option to only load
mod folders starting with [BR2L]
such as [BR2L] my Mod Name
Useful if you only want to process certain mods
but you do have to follow the [BR2L] folder naming convention
If you chose not to use the [BR2L] Checkbox,
the Launcher will process all mods in the mod repository
and they will appear in the Launcher Mods Selection List
To install without using Turfster's launcher:
----------------------------------------------------------------
1. Unzip the Black Rubber.POD file into your game directory.
2. Make a backup of your language.POD and w32ENsnd.POD files.
3. Delete language.POD and rename w32ENsnd.POD to language.POD
4. Extract Black Rubber.POD from the zip into your game directory
if not already done, and rename it to w32ENsnd.POD
5. Launch BloodRayne 2
6. Enter the EXTRAS menu and enter the Unlock Outfits cheat: WHACKLICKEROTICCUNNINGLY
7. Go down to Select Outfit and select Schoolgirl Rayne.
8. Either select the first level or escape back to the main menu and load a previously saved game.
9. To deactivate the skin, rename w32ENsnd.POD to Black Rubber.POD and restore your backup POD files.

Do not select NEW GAME after activating this skin, as this will cause the game to hang. Instead, if you want to play from the start, select the first level in the EXTRAS menu.

Hi, does anyone know if it is possible to get the BR2 Launcher to work with the steam version, and if so, how please? I have a heap of BR2 mods from my old disc version but can't get the launcher to work with steam version.
Rename the steam br2.exe to rayne2.exe (make a backup)
Rename the launcher exe to br2.exe, and steam will start that one.
(launcher may need to be placed in the Steam BR2 Game Folder
alonside the game executable and ensure launcher is correctly configured.)

you need to slow down a game to at least 60 fps, or better 45 or 30 fps; And also I recomend to play BloodRayne 1 in 60 fps max.

Lost track of the exact Thread, no idea if it actually works.
Go to where BloodRayne 2 is installed on your PC/Laptop (you can also open your Steam Library -> BloodRayne 2 -> Properties -> 'Browse Local Files' if you do not know where it might be installed)
2. Open the folder 'system'
3. Open the RENDER.ini file inside that folder
4. Find the line 'syncRetrace=0'
5. Change it to 'syncRetrace=1'
6. Save the changes
The ingame FPS is now locked and objects and physics will behave normally, Rayne has functioning breast jiggle and hair physics, no more floating around after double jump, no animation glitches and no slowmo rail grinding |
