| Cutlass Isle (a.k.a. Hooked on Pirates) Challenge begins October 1st |

Hooked on Pirates is beginning an annual series of challenges which will last three months, or one yearly quarter, for each challenge, the first of which commences October 1st.
These challenges are designed to test Pirates! players' skills in the various arenas the game entails, including seamanship, fighting skill and just plain patience and persistence. The inaugural challenge is "Fluyt for a Flagship" where contestants will take a ship that sails like a shoe and attempt to pursue a profitable career. Rules and conditions for the events will be posted in the Tavern a week in advance, and there can be found the information participants need to plow forward and bring home the gold.
Other challenges planned for the coming year are: Pure Pirating, The Honest Merchant Challenge, and The Ancient Mariner. Along with each of these will be included a regatta with a six-waypoint course. The regattas will have both easy and hard races with prizes given reflecting the difficulty level.
So, grab your duffel bags, and head for the Tavern to find out what you need to do to win. Gold is the prize, along with a tidy little icon to grace your avatar so the entire world knows who's the better pirate!
