Crimson Skies (2000) Air Pirates Game
Crimson Skies is often regarded as a "cult success", commercially successful only to a limited extent. The game has received generally favorable reviews; it has been noted for its high-quality voice acting, gameplay, and atmosphere.
Now an abandonware Game, Try a Google Search
game will require a NoCD fix for Windows 7,8,10,11
No GOG version as yet possibly due to licensing rights issues.
There is an official Patch (recommended) and a 3rd party Graphics Fix patch available.
EDIT:
The 3rd party Graphics Fix patch apparently removed the game protection as it includes a modified game executable.

Crimson Skies is set in an alternate history of the 1930s
Nathan Zachary, an adventurous air pirate seeking to rob the affluent of their wealth and power.
Zachary leads his gang of air pirates, the Fortune Hunters, on a quest to gain fame and riches.

dgVoodoo 2 is set of old graphics API's for Windows Vista/7/8/10.
They are implemented on Direct3D 11 and they can use different device types as wrapping output:
- Hardware rendering at GPU feature level 11.0 (recommended)
- Hardware rendering at GPU feature level 10.1 (has a minor limitation for DX8/9)
- Hardware rendering at GPU feature level 10.0 (there are some restrictions)
- Software rendering through Microsoft WARP renderer
The following graphics API libraries are implemented:
- Glide 2.11, Glide 2.45, Glide 3.1 and Glide 3.1 Napalm

My favorite air combat game are the Microsoft combat flight sims. Very fun and very mod friendly. I guess my cds are boxed away somewhere probably my parents house but someday I plan to fly again. |

Play Any Mission Hint
In the campaign menu, left-click on the microphone on the left side of the screen and type idaho.
A menu will appear in the top right of the screen that will allow you to go to any of the missions of the game.
All Gallery Pictures Hint
In the previous missions screen, click the Rouge & Co. pilot symbol
in the bottom left hand corner and type ispy

In the early 2000s, Microsoft published a slew of original, multi-media franchises to often mixed success. One of them was the video game adaption of FASA's alternate history tabletop game, Crimson Skies. The infusion of 1930s and dieselpunk aesthetic with fun arcade aerial combat still remains quite good albeit heldback through technical and mechanical fumbles and limitations that only illustrate the potential for something greater.

A retrospective review of Microsoft/Zipper's "Combat Flight Action" title, released for Windows PCs in September 2000. Covers the history of the game, how it plays, its visuals and audio, and finally its story and setting.
As an addendum, I should add that Art Director Heinz Schuller has disputed claims by 1UP and Unseen64 that a "Crimson Skies 3" was ever in development at FASA Studio, but I didn't look too much into it so I left those in the video.
(The official Crimson Skies patch v1.02 fixed the initial release
