For the technology of the time, Pirates Gold was so much better than SMP. PIrates GOld was maxed out with everything 1993 had to offer, SMP just has better graphics with some improvements. Villains are better in SMP and the quests are more in depth though |

It looks like there's some other stuff that, as far as I can tell, didn't make it - the executable has a reference to a "fencing_instructor" near the reference to the captain of the guard (different from the retired player character "fencing master"). There's also something in there that looks like a sneaking minigame from Cartagena prison, with the difficulties "Argh (sneak in)" "Aaargh! (sneak out))", and "Aaaaargh!!!"
Weird stuff, anyone seen anything else like that? Wonder if we can find a way to use whatever work went into them but wasn't used |
Credit to the brilliant noloyolo456 for unlocking some of this stuff (like the escape from Cartagena) with the secret options mod: http://hookedonpirates.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=131817#131817
This requires a new exe, I believe, so likely incompatible with our other big mods - for now... |

You will have to use his executable and transfer over the cities, text what ever else you changed in making your first mod executable unless you know to make the same changes he made to unlock those features. Don't know what his base executable is either it might be a steam executable or anything that might be a challenge redoing a mod with that. |

included the byte changes in a diff.txt file
in the Secret Menu Options Mod
Contains the byte changes made to the exe in the format
location: old_bytes new_bytes
The Steam SM Pirates Game install location is mentioned in the readme
if using steam as an example
the actual hex edited Game executable included source is not mentioned |
