It crashes after a few minutes on various attempts with a message saying "microsoft visual c ++ runtime library".
any help with how to fix this?

ok i took it off Fullscreen and then on full screen and that seemed to make it better. Question how do you get to the sea? Ive run into merchants to buy stuff from and run into the characters that dont talk, but thats about it |

Looking beautiful. I still have the microsoft visual c ++ runtime library. are you saying my version of it with a brand new computer is too modern to run carribean tales on? |

The microsoft visual c ++ runtime library included in the game
may be now outdated (depends if it was updated or not by Steam or GOG
in their Game Distributions)
recommended to use the latest available
microsoft visual c ++ runtime library,
as modern software & Windows OS with latest Windows updates
will require it.
you may already have this via windows updates,
but best to check the runtime version number installed
by Windows Updates (see windows updates install history)
against the latest download version number. |

seems like city of abandoned ships has the same problem "microsoft visual c ++ runtime library"
onto to each his now. carribean tales had constant CTDs once i hit the ocean. no more about the microsoft visual c ++ anymore though |

i saw in carribean tales my ship sittting out in the water and i boarded it
no problems running to each his own, but there is no ship of mine off the coast and i cant seem to find the guy who buys and sells ships, cannon etc
and there seems no way to buy crew and a captain in the tavern |

Ok, to each his own just killed me with that complicatedness
And city of abandoned ships wont even start without "microsoft visual c ++ runtime library".
i guess today ill try out carribean tales with that nice mod. If that doesnt work either off to caribbean legend
What do you mean by stand alone? Install it in a totally different folder? |
